CHILDREN-Nepal (CN) is a non-profit and NGO that works to promote the rights, welfare and development of children living on the margins of society. It works directly with children and with their families with practical activities, helping them to break away from the effects of discrimination, exploitation and violence based on caste, disability, gender and social status.
CHILDREN-Nepal was founded in 1995 by a group of Nepali professionals who were
grew up discriminative, violent and exploitative conditions. They were concerned
about the number of children living on the margins of society with their families
unable to provide material support such as shelter, health care and emotional
support because of their own disadvantaged background. Many children, unable
to receive adequate education or attending schools who couldn't cope with the
issues of the disadvantaged children, haven't been outreached by existing social
institutions. As a result many of these children are exploited and exposed to
violence and crime suffering from physical and/or mental health problems.
Throughout the years CN helped many children and their families. With its own
facilities, the organization grew into the resource centre for people and other
organizations who want to work with children in difficult circumstances.
